What Is BU40 Matte EPU Film Roll for Foldable Screens?

BU40 Matte EPU Film Roll is a UV-cured functional material featuring a 180±10μm application layer, 12–15μm matte AG coating, ≥88% light transmittance, 52±3% haze, ≥100° water contact angle, and ≥400g/inch adhesion. Its flexible EPU structure and anti-glare surface can be evaluated for foldable and flexible display protection, as well as smartphones, tablets, automotive displays, control panels, POS terminals, and other electronic surfaces.

It is designed for screen protector manufacturers, die-cutting factories, film converters, coating and laminating processors, cutting-machine consumable suppliers, and OEM brands. BU40 is a 180±10μm UV-cured matte EPU roll material with a 12–15μm AG coating and 10±2μm SI silicone adhesive layer, designed for anti-glare protective-film converting and OEM processing.

Can BU40 be used for foldable screens?

BU40 uses a flexible EPU structure and can be evaluated for foldable and flexible display applications. However, BU40-specific folding-cycle test data is not currently provided, so final suitability should be validated according to the customer’s folding requirements.

What are the optical properties of BU40?

BU40 provides ≥88% light transmittance and 52±3% haze. The controlled high haze helps reduce reflected light and glare, making the material suitable for matte anti-glare display protection.

How does BU40 perform under temperature cycling?

BU40 records physical changes below 5% after cycling between 85°C for 4 hours and -20°C for 4 hours. This helps demonstrate that the material and adhesive system remain stable under repeated temperature changes, reducing the risk of layer separation, adhesive failure and performance fluctuation.

What is the adhesion performance of BU40?

BU40 records ≥400g/inch adhesion, with 1–5g/inch top-layer peel strength and 2–8g/inch bottom-layer peel strength. This supports stable screen bonding while maintaining controlled release performance during converting and installation.
